Zeer geachte Heer Tromp,
Uw brief van 8 Juni heb ik aanstonds meegenomen naar het Nederlands Economisch Instituut. Men heeft ook daar echter nog niet het soort werk gevonden waarvan men meent dat men het U zou moeten aanbieden. Ik houd Uw wens in gedachten. Toch zou het wel goed zijn indien U nog iets nauwkeuriger specificeren kon wat U op statistisch en economisch gebied aan ervaring hebt, omdat dit bij de bespreking van eventuele werkzaamheden toch gauw een rol speelt. Ik neem aan dat U daarnaast ook eigen [wegen] [bewandelt] om contacten te leggen. Het is beter om meer dan één ijzer in het vuur te hebben.

I immediately took your letter of June 8th to the Netherlands Economic Institute. However, they have not yet found the type of work there that they believe should be offered to you. I am keeping your wish in mind. Nevertheless, it would be good if you could specify a bit more precisely what experience you have in the statistical and economic fields, as this quickly plays a role in the discussion of potential activities. I assume that you are also [pursuing] your own [ways] to establish contacts. It is better to have more than one iron in the fire.
