Dr N. Kaldor,
King's College,
Cambridge
Dear Kaldor,
I have not actually accepted to participate in the conference organized by Sauvy, although I do think that the subject is worth while. At any rate I have the feeling that an improvement in economic understanding of say employers organizations, trade unions and even "the public" generally is really important for the success of any depression policy, to quote an important subject for to-day. It is more for lack of time that I do not accept; some of my immediate collaborators probably will attend.
As far as I understood the theme questions will be [discussed] as to how the situation changed since the 30s in different countries and what means could be used in order to change it further. In this country very heartening change in economic understanding has since taken place which, according to the general feeling, contributed to the rather favourable development we experienced since 1950.
With best personal regards,
