Beste Koos,
Zojuist hoorde ik dat van de zijde van India Dr A. MITRA zal worden genoemd als een mogelijke candidaat voor "special studies division" voor het Fund. Ik zou graag even je aandacht op deze candidaat willen vestigen, die verleden jaar bij mij promoveerde en die ik een bijzonder intelligente en toegewijde promovendus vond. Bovendien een man van de bovenste plank wat betreft zijn onzelfzuchtige enthousiasme voor zijn land.
Voor vandaag laat ik het hierbij. De beste wensen voor Kerstmis en Nieuwjaar !

Dear Koos,
I just heard that from India's side Dr A. MITRA will be named as a possible candidate for the "special studies division" for the Fund. I would like to briefly draw your attention to this candidate, who received his doctorate under me last year and whom I found to be a particularly intelligent and dedicated doctoral student. Moreover, a top-notch man regarding his selfless enthusiasm for his country.
