Zeer geachte Heer Ramaer,
In antwoord op Uw brief van 5 Augustus wil ik U als mijn mening uitspreken dat het alleen zin heeft een conferentie te beleggen, als bedoeld door Prof. de Vries, wanneer men zich als doel stelt het geven van objectieve voorlichting, dus geen propaganda van welke zijde ook. Dit nu zal sterk afhangen van de sprekers die men kan krijgen. Zij zouden o.m. op de hoogte moeten zijn van het werk van Colin Clark, Leontief en Jasny op het gebied van de Russische statistieken. Mij persoonlijk is in Nederland niemand bekend die zich als vakstatisticus met deze cijfers heeft bezig gehouden. Men zou wellicht eens overleg kunnen plegen met Mr J.J. Boasson.

Dear Mr. Ramaer,
In response to your letter of August 5, I would like to express my opinion that it only makes sense to organize a conference, as intended by Prof. de Vries, if the goal is to provide objective information, thus no propaganda from any side. This will depend heavily on the speakers that can be obtained. They should, among other things, be familiar with the work of Colin Clark, Leontief, and Jasny in the field of Russian statistics. Personally, I know of no one in the Netherlands who has been involved with these figures as a professional statistician. One might perhaps consult with Mr. J.J. Boasson.
