Dear Nurkse,
It was a great pleasure to get your letter of June 26. Unfortunately I have no copies left of my articles in the Review of the Banca Nazionale del Lavoro. I am sending you, however, a copy of the Central Economic Plans 1952 and 1954 as well as a recent article on monetary questions in our reprint series.
I did not know that you were so near and some of my colleagues and myself are wondering wether we could not invite you for a lecture. This will depend, however, on the period you are still available. I wonder whether you would be kind enough to let me know until what date approximately you are staying in the United Kingdom. The complication on our side is that regular courses have already been determined, which means that it is difficult to get the younger students together. The older ones who are working in the institutes are still there, however, and it would be primarily of interest to them. The subject we are thinking of is that of your last book on Capital Formation in Underdeveloped Countries. Usually the conditions we can offer are costs of travel and stay plus f 100.-, but we may correspond on that point after we have made sure that you are at all available.
