Zeer geachte Heer Frank,
Zoals U weet had de redactie van de Series "Contributions to Economical Analysis", de Heer Horst Mendershausen gevraagd om een deeltje voor onze serie bij te dragen.
Wij hebben nu besloten het concept, dat ons was toegezonden, voor de series goed te keuren. Ik heb dit na overleg met collega Tinbergen aan de Heer Mendershausen medegedeeld.
Deze schreef mij, dat hij de herziene tekst voor het eind van deze maand hoopt klaar te maken. Daarbij vroeg hij mij U op de hoogte te brengen van de goedkeuring van het manuscript en U te vragen om de vooruitbetaling der royalties overeenkomstig het door hem met U gesloten contract,
Ik voldoe hierbij dus aan dit verzoek in de hoop, dat U een en ander zult kunnen regelen.

Dear Mr. Frank,
As you know, the editorial board of the series "Contributions to Economic Analysis", had asked Mr. Horst Mendershausen to contribute a volume to our series.
We have now decided to approve the draft that was sent to us for the series. After consultation with colleague Tinbergen, I have informed Mr. Mendershausen of this.
He wrote to me that he hopes to have the revised text ready by the end of this month. In addition, he asked me to inform you of the approval of the manuscript and to ask you for the advance payment of the royalties in accordance with the contract concluded by him with you,
I hereby comply with this request in the hope that you will be able to arrange this.
