Dear Professor Kidner,
It was a great pleasure to have news from you and I shall be very glad of course to suggest interviews to Professor Carter. Before trying to arrange something for him, I may perhaps make a couple of suggestions which he might answer, and upon his answer I could try to act. I suggest that he would see people of the following institutions:
1. The Ministry of Transport (Ministerie van Verkeer en Waterstaat) where much of the co-operating work is done in which it is assisted by my own bureau, the Central Planning Bureau, both in the Hague;
2. The Netherlands Railways Inc., Utrecht;
3. The General Netherlands Organization for the Transport of Persons, the Hague;
4. The National Organization for Road Transport of Merchandize, the Hague;
5. The Central Bureau of Rhine and Inland Water Transport, Rotterdam;
6. The Netherlands Shipping Organization (Nederlandsche Reedersvereeniging), the Hague;
7. Royal Union of Bargemen "Schuttevaer", Nederhemert;
8. The Royal Dutch Airlines (K.L.M.), the Hague;
9. The Royal Netherlands Tourist Organization (A.N.W.B.), the Hague;
10. Institute for Transport Economics (Het Nederlandse Verkeersinstituut), the Hague.
In addition Prof. Carter probably wishes to see some of his colleagues who specialized in transport problems, among which I would like to mention in particular Dr H.C. Kuiler, of the Central Bureau of Statistics, who lectures at the Netherlands School of Economics and who had the division of transport statistics at the Central Bureau of Statistics (Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek) at the Hague. It would depend on the specific problems dr Carter is interested in whether I would advise him to see other people. If he could indicate them to me, I shall be glad to include them in my list.
