In antwoord op je brief van 25 dezer diene allereerst dat ik gaarne het gevraagde boekenlijstje zal samenstellen, doch daarvoor nog enkele dagen respijt vraag. Reeds direct wil ik je echter melden dat ik mijn bijdrage voor Perroux gereed heb en gisteren verzonden heb. Hij had mij van het begin af aan gevraagd deze tegen einde Juli te leveren, zodat ik hoop dat er geen misverstand heeft bestaan; zelfs kreeg ik dezer dagen nog een brief waarin hij van eind Augustus sprak.
Wat betreft je verzoek en mijn belofte om voor de Cahiers iets te schrijven over de algemene theorie van de integratie: ik had begrepen dat door het verzoek van Perroux daaraan geen behoefte meer zou bestaan. Daarin is immers het onderwerp ook behandeld. Niettemin ben uiteraard bereid om afzonderlijk voor de Cahiers ook iets te schrijven. Nu blijkt mij echter dat ik geen exemplaar meer hier heb en dus niet kan beoordelen om een artikel van welke lengte het gaat. Mag ik dat nog even weten?

In response to your letter of the 25th of this month, let me first say that I will gladly compile the requested book list, but I ask for a few more days' grace for that. However, I want to inform you immediately that I have completed my contribution for Perroux and sent it yesterday. He had asked me from the beginning to deliver it by the end of July, so I hope there has been no misunderstanding; I even received another letter recently in which he spoke of the end of August.
Regarding your request and my promise to write something for the Cahiers about the general theory of integration: I had understood that because of Perroux's request, there would no longer be a need for that. After all, the subject is also covered there. Nevertheless, I am naturally prepared to write something separately for the Cahiers as well. However, it now appears that I no longer have a copy here and therefore cannot judge what length of article is required. May I know that?
