Dear Mrs Berger Lieser,
In reply to your letter of May 5 and after having consulted dr Staehle, who happened to be here these last days, I am able to suggest two excellent names for a paper on the propagation of business cycles in raw-material countries. The first is dr J.J. Polak of the International Monetary Fund; dr Polak happens to spend his holidays in Holland during the month of July. I am therefore not sure that he will be prepared to come back to Europe in September; but he would be a most qualified speaker on this subject. The second candidate I had to suggest would be Mr Prebisch of the Economic Commission for Latin America, Santiago de Chili.
