Zeer geachte Heer Stokhuyzen,
Door het Nederlands Economische Instituut is een internationale conferentie belegd in Driebergen van morgen tot en met Donderdag. In verband daarmede zou ik het bijzonder op prijs stellen als ik mij a.s. Donderdag nog eenmaal aan de examens kon onttrekken. Mijn voorstel is om de heer Witteveen te vragen of hij mijn examens zou willen afnemen. Ik zie op het schema dat hij toch reeds aanwezig zou zijn. Mocht dit geen bezwaren ontmoeten, zoudt U dan bijgaand briefje aan de heer Witteveen willen doen toekomen?

Dear Mr. Stokhuyzen,
An international conference has been organized by the Netherlands Economic Institute in Driebergen from tomorrow until Thursday. In connection with this, I would particularly appreciate it if I could once again withdraw from the exams this coming Thursday. My proposal is to ask Mr. Witteveen if he would be willing to conduct my exams. I see on the schedule that he would already be present anyway. Should this meet with no objections, would you then please forward the enclosed note to Mr. Witteveen?
