Dear Allen,
Speaking with Koopmans, Stone and some others I came to the conclusion since Stone finds it difficult to organize next year's annual meeting of the Econometric Society in Cambridge but was quite willing to do so in 1952, that it might be better to have next year's meeting in Belgium. We also thought that it would be good to have at that time in the organization committee yourself as the acting president with our friend Chait and probably some younger Belgian member who could do the organizing work. I onley convey this suggestion to you since it is not at all my task to occupy myself with these matters. Chait being a good friend of mine I asked him already whether he would be prepared to serve on this committee. I ta[ke] it that you [will] communicate with him yourself if you agree [to] these suggestions.
