Mr James Baster,
Economic Advisor
Relief and Works Agency
for Palestine Refugees,
Maison Unesco,
BEYROUTH
Dear Mr Baster,
Certainly I remember our meeting at home with the Polaks. I am glad to hear from you.
I think Mr Willems is a good statistician accustomed to work with figures for a long time and well-informed about their sources. During his work at the Netherlands Economic Institute he concentrated on studies of raw material markets, which brought him in contact with statistics of underdeveloped countries. He is also able to do much work if circumstances require so. Although it is always difficult to forecast somebody's behaviour under conditions so far unknown to him I nevertheless think he would be able to perform the task you write of in a satisfactory way.
Yours very sincerely,
