Dear Mr and Mrs Whittlesey,
Often we are thinking of the very pleasant time we had in Haverford and of the great part you had in making this time so extremely attractive to us. My wife is remembering the various fine trips she made with you. I am remembering the various discussions we had both at the College and at some other occasions, and both of us inparticular are remembering your visit at St Nicholas eve. All this and so many other things can not be forgotten, and the only hope is that you some time will be at the other end of the ocean in order that we may see you with us. Meanwhile a little book about Holland was sent to you, and we do hope that this may somewhat stimulate the idea of coming to Europe.
We hope you are both well; all of us here are in good health and busy.
