Zeer geachte Mevrouw Kleynzeld,
Met veel dank gisteren de hoofdstukken 13 en 19 ontvangen! Daar het vandaag vrijdag de 13e is, moest er toch een rampje gebeuren. Ik ontdekte dat de nummering van de vergelijkingen in de hoofdstukken 1, 2, 3, 7 en 16 anders was dan in de rest van het boek: de hoofdstuknummers niet eerst vermeld in het vergelijkingennummer. Wat (7.1) moest zijn, was (1) enz. Dat maakt het nodig om 18 bladzijden te repareren¹), die ik U daarom nog toezend. Die zouden, na reparatie elk in 5-voud nodig zijn. Ik hoop dat het Uw maandag en volgende dagen niet bederft. Sorry!
De bladzijde nummers zijn wel met de hand veranderd, maar dat hoeft niet door de hele tekst. Voor de hierbijgaande blzn. wilt U het misschien wel doen.

Heb ook nieuwe blz. 114 gemaakt. Het was niet zoveel werk. Heb het gevoel dat er nog meer inconsistenties in zitten, bijv. Section 5 in plaats van bijv. Section 9.5.
1) + nog 2 blz. in Hs. 9, waar de hernummering van het hoofdstuk ons parten gespeeld heeft.

Dear Mrs. Kleynzeld,
Received chapters 13 and 19 yesterday with many thanks! Since today is Friday the 13th, a small disaster had to happen. I discovered that the numbering of the equations in chapters 1, 2, 3, 7 and 16 was different from the rest of the book: the chapter numbers were not mentioned first in the equation number. What should have been (7.1) was (1) etc. That makes it necessary to repair 18 pages¹), which I am therefore sending to you. After repair, these would each be needed in 5-fold. I hope it doesn't spoil your Monday and following days. Sorry!
The page numbers have been changed by hand, but that is not necessary throughout the entire text. For the enclosed pages, you might want to do it.

Also made a new page 114. It wasn't that much work. I have the feeling that there are even more inconsistencies in it, e.g. Section 5 instead of e.g. Section 9.5.
