Zeer geachte Heer Buys,
De jongeman, waarvan de personalia in de bijlagen zijn genoteerd, is in Januari van dit jaar bij de Deli-Atjeh Handelmaatschappij aangenomen voor uitzending naar Indonesië. Deze uitzending wordt echter vanuit Indonesië vooralsnog bemoeilijkt, weshalve hij graag wil proberen ergens anders aan de slag te komen. Het betreft hier de verloofde van een zeer gewaardeerde kracht aan het Bureau (mej. Hartgerink), jonge mensen, waarvoor de toekomst nog weinig hoopvol lijkt. Over vakbekwaamheden kan de heer Tinbergen U uiteraard niet inlichten, maar hij zou het bijzonder op prijs stellen indien U mogelijkheden ziet of weet, wanneer U deze rechtstreeks aan de heer Bathoorn zoudt willen mededelen.

Dear Mr. Buys,
The young man, whose personal details are noted in the attachments, was hired in January of this year by the Deli-Atjeh Trading Company for deployment to Indonesia. However, this deployment is currently being made difficult from Indonesia, which is why he would like to try to find work elsewhere. This concerns the fiancé of a highly valued employee at the Bureau (Miss Hartgerink), young people for whom the future still seems to hold little hope. Mr. Tinbergen naturally cannot inform you about professional skills, but he would particularly appreciate it if you see or know of any possibilities, if you would communicate these directly to Mr. Bathoorn.
