Zeer geachte Heer Burg,
Het spijt mij zeer dat ik U moet teleurstellen inzake Uw verzoek omtrent het Theorema van Fermat. Ik ben n.l. op het gebied van de getallenleer onvoldoende gespecialiseerd om U een enigszins betrouwbaar antwoord te kunnen geven. Ik zou U willen adviseren ofwel te schrijven aan Prof. Kloosterman in Leiden, die de specialist op dit gebied is, ofwel aan het Mathematisch Centrum (2e Boerhaavestraat 49, Amsterdam-O). U zult dan meer deskundige hulp kunnen verkrijgen dan het mij mogelijk is U te geven. Voor Uw gemak zend ik U zowel het bewijs als de brief terug. Ik wens U veel succes.

I am, namely, insufficiently specialized in the field of number theory to be able to give you a somewhat reliable answer. I would like to advise you to either write to Prof. Kloosterman in Leiden, who is the specialist in this field, or to the Mathematical Center (2e Boerhaavestraat 49, Amsterdam-O). You will then be able to obtain more expert help than it is possible for me to give you. For your convenience, I am returning both the proof and the letter to you. I wish you much success.
