Dear Colleague,
Mr. Lenschow has now worked with us for several months and I believe that he has gradually formed an idea of the modern working method of statistical analysis. In addition, he is extraordinarily industrious and interested. It seems to me that he could also do useful work in this direction in your institute, especially because there is still much good and unprocessed material in Germany.
I am writing all this to you because I believe that through this the institute could tackle a new branch of work and Mr. Lenschow could find an activity pleasant for his interest. Since all this, however, does not concern my task, I would like to apologize and make it clear that it is only what I hope is a useful suggestion, to which a reply would not be necessary for you.
I was very pleased to meet you again in Düsseldorf and I hope that your health is now completely in order again.

Sehr geehrter Herr Kollege,
Herr Lenschow hat jetzt verschiedene Monate bei uns gearbeitet und ich glaube dass er allmählich von der modernen Arbeitsweise der statistischen Analyse sich eine Vorstellung gebildet hat. Dazu ist er ausserordentlich fleissig und interessiert. Es kommt mir vor dass er auch in Ihrem Institut nützliche Arbeiten in dieser Richtung machen könnte, zumal weil es in Deutschland noch viel gutes und unbearbeitetes Material gibt.
Ich schreibe Ihnen alledies weil ich glaube dass dadurch das Institut einen neuen Zweig von Arbeiten angreifen und Herr Lenschow eine für sein Interesse angenehme Betätigung finden könnte. Weil dies aber alles nicht meiner Aufgabe anbetrifft möchte ich mich entschuldigen und deutlich machen dass es sich nur um eine wie ich hoffe nützliche Suggestion handelt auf die zu antworten für Sie nicht notwendig wäre.
Es hat mich sehr gefreut Ihnen in Düsseldorf wieder zu begegnen und ich hoffe dass Ihre Gesundheit jetzt wieder ganz in Ordnung ist.
