Waarde Collega,
Gaarne voldoe ik aan Uw verzoek om inlichtingen te verstrekken omtrent de Heer J.J.M. van Tulder, astr. drs, wiskundige onzer Stichting.
Hij is sedert begin 1946 bij ons werkzaam als chef der afdeling Markt- en Opinieonderzoek, in welker opbouw en consolidatie hij een belangrijk aandeel heeft gehad. Hij is een zeer gewaardeerde medewerker, die zich heeft doen kennen als een scherpzinnig analyticus, een bekwaam statisticus en een, ik mag die er wel aan toevoegen, harde werker.
Naast zijn eigenlijke werkzaamheden heeft hij verschillende lezingen op statistisch en marktanalytisch gebied gehouden op internationale congressen van de European Society for Opinion and Market Research, analyse-werkzaamheden verricht ten behoeve van de Research Division van de toenmalige M.S.A. te Parijs, alsmede een aantal lessen op statistisch gebied gegeven in het kader van de opleiding van arbeiders-efficiëncy-adviseurs der Raad van Vakcentralen.
Tenslotte treedt hij nog op als secretaris en lid van de commissie voor het examen "Statistisch Analyst" van de Vereniging voor Statistiek.
Ik kan hem voor het door U gedachte privaat-docentschap zeer aanbevelen.

Dear Colleague,
I am pleased to comply with your request to provide information regarding Mr. J.J.M. van Tulder, astr. drs, mathematician of our Foundation.
He has been employed by us since the beginning of 1946 as head of the Market and Opinion Research department, in whose development and consolidation he has played a significant role. He is a highly valued colleague who has distinguished himself as a keen analyst, a skilled statistician and, I may well add, a hard worker.
In addition to his actual duties, he has given various lectures in the field of statistics and market analysis at international congresses of the European Society for Opinion and Market Research, performed analytical work for the Research Division of the then M.S.A. in Paris, as well as given a number of lessons in the field of statistics within the framework of the training of worker-efficiency advisors of the Council of Trade Unions.
Finally, he also acts as secretary and member of the committee for the "Statistical Analyst" examination of the Association for Statistics.
I can highly recommend him for the private lectureship you have in mind.
