Mr an Mrs Heinemann,

Dear Mr and Mrs Heinemann,
It was a great pleasure having your letter of May 17, and we are very much looking forward to see you again on this side of the "great pond" as we say here. It will also be very nice to meet Marianne, especially for Els. We hope, however, that you will be able to change the dates a little bit, since we are invited by President Gilbert White of Haverford to attend part of a Friend's meeting at Clarens Switzerland exacly from 9-14 August. This is why I am writing you immediately hoping that you can somewhat shift or re-arrange your schedule so as to give us the pleasure of seeing you. Probably we have to travel on August 8, so that any time before the 8th or after the 14th so far would be completely free to us.
It was a pity indeed that your last kind invitation did not lead to success, but we enjoyed meeting you at Washington and before that at Philadelphia with the bankers. There is much to be talked about indeed and let us hope pleasant things also !
With the best personal wishes,
cordially yours,
