Dear Dr Hansen,
It was a great pleasure to have your letter of June 28 and the first six chapters of your report. I already started reading some, but had to postpone it because of pressure of work; I am planning to take them with me on my holiday. But I saw enough of it in order to understand that indeed we have been thinking very much along the same lines, which of course is a great pleasure to me. I did not therefore want to wait any longer before answering you and may come back to the matter after having completed the reading of your chapters. You may be interested to know that a second part is with the printer and due to be published this autumn. This second part is dealing with the question of centralization and decentralization in economic policy. It represents an example of two qualitatively different policies, the latter one referring to the situation of "more than one policy-maker". I will let you have a copy of this booklet as soon as it has appeared.
