Dear Mr and Mrs Heinemann,
Thank you for sending me your paper on "Europe today" which I read with great interest. There are the following points upon which I should like to draw your attention.
The number of people repatriated from Indonesia is estimated at "several hundred thousand "(page 6). The actual figure is below 200 000.
Also on page 6 you suggest that "The government admits that it is cheaper to encourage migration". It would perhaps be better to say this in the impersonal form: "it is admitted", because I am not sure that the government did so.
On that same page you state the number of emigrants to be 10 000- 15 000. The actual figure for 1950 for people emigrated with government's help was 22 000 of which some 9 000 had an occupation. This figure covers emigration to all countries except Europe, Indonesia and the West Indies and Surinam.
