Dear Sir,
Today I had a talk with Prof. Dr. J. Tinbergen, Director of the Central Planning Office of the Netherlands, who suggested the possibility of a post for me with the staff of your secretariat. He advised me to write you a personal letter. Prof. Tinbergen himself will also contact you on this subject.
About myself I can give you briefly the following information: I am 44 years of age and a master of arts in economics.
Since many years I have been working as a high official with the Dutch Government as well as with business enterprises as an economic adviser.
During 1945 - 1946 I was a delegate to the Emergency Economic Committee for Europe in London and represented the chief delegate of the Netherlands, Mr. Lamping, on all industrial subcommittees of the E.E.C.E.
In February 1950 I got my honourable dismissal from the Government-service. Since then I studied political and sociological sciences and meanwhile I reorganised a private firm, which reorganisation terminated on the 1st. of August 1951.
Prof. Tinbergen, who knows me well, has the idea -most vividly shared by me- that a post with your Secretariat would be the most suitable job for me. I am thoroughly acquainted with all kinds of researchwork on economics and I am very interested in international questions; especially I support the U.N. world-organisation, the development of which I closely follow since 1945.
I hope you will be prepared to consider the possibility of a post for me with your secretariat. In case you require further information, please let me know.
