Amice,
Mag ik over de economische week nog een enkele vraag aan je stellen ? Tot nu toe heb ik nog geen enkel programma gezien en ik heb van onze vriend Perroux, na een vraag daarover, nog niets gehoord . Het begint nu tot mij door te dringen, dat zowel hij als jij misschien verwacht hebben dat ik de organisatie van de week op mij zou nemen . Ik moet bekennen dat ik daarmee niet gerekend had en uitsluitend heb zorg gedragen dat mijn speech klaar is, terwijl door de goede zorgen van Perroux ook de andere sprekers met hun speeches nu klaar zijn .
Uitnodigingen tot bijwoning van de economische week zijn door mij echter niet verzonden - ik heb over het vraagstuk zelfs nauwelijks nagedacht - doch onlangs kwam deze kwestie in mij op. Mijn vraag aan jou is of de economische week uitsluitend bedoeld is voor de studenten van het Europa-College, dan wel of je nog andere deelneming bedoeld had. Is het eerste het geval, dan is het dus verder in orde, behalve dat het programma nog moet worden bekend gemaakt. Daarover heb ik dus ook Perroux geschreven. Zou het tweede het geval zijn, dan lijkt het mij gewenst dat het College alsnog bericht zendt aan enkele mensen, die het daartoe aangewezen acht, omtrent het feit dat de economische week wordt georganiseerd.
Gaarne verontschuldig ik mij voor deze wat zonderlinge vragen; het begin van de gehele opzet was echter door Perroux geregeld en zelfs dermate in de puntjes (hij had immers zelfs een contract opgesteld) dat ik in de mening verkeerde, dat ofwel hij of jullie dit alles zouden regelen. Gaarne een enkel woord terug hierover. In elk geval hoop ik dus de 27e 's morgens te komen.

May I ask you one more question about the economic week ? So far I have not seen a single program and I have heard nothing from our friend Perroux, after an inquiry about it . It is now beginning to dawn on me that both he and you might have expected that I would take on the organization of the week . I must confess that I had not counted on that and have only taken care that my speech is ready, while thanks to the good care of Perroux, the other speakers are also now ready with their speeches .
Invitations to attend the economic week have not been sent by me, however - I have hardly even thought about the issue - but recently this matter occurred to me. My question to you is whether the economic week is intended exclusively for the students of the Europa College, or whether you had intended other participation. If the former is the case, then everything is otherwise in order, except that the program still needs to be announced. I have also written to Perroux about that. Should the latter be the case, then it seems desirable to me that the College still sends notice to a few people, whom it deems appropriate for that purpose, regarding the fact that the economic week is being organized.
I would like to apologize for these somewhat strange questions; however, the beginning of the entire setup was arranged by Perroux and even to such an extent (after all, he had even drawn up a contract) that I was under the impression that either he or you would arrange all this. I would appreciate a brief word in reply about this. In any case, I hope to arrive on the morning of the 27th.
