Miss Marion ELDERTON,
The Rockefeller Foundation,
49 West 49th Street,
NEW YORK, N.Y.
Dear Miss Elderton,
From Dr J. Pen I heard that he has applied for a Rockefeller fellowship in economics. I know dr Pen very well from our irregular contacts in the Ministry of Economic Affairs and I consider him as a very able economist. Our discussions usually concerned questions on the furthering of productivity, but his own main interest is in monopolistic competition. On this subject he wrote his thesis, which is a very good piece of work. I therefore gladly recommend him for a fellowship.
Yours very sincerely,
