Door de heer Idenburg werd mijn aandacht er op gevestigd dat bij het nieuwe bezoldigingsbesluit van 19 September 1950 (tot nadere wijziging van het Bezoldigingsbesluit Burgerlijke Rijksambtenaren 1948, Staatsblad No J 261) No K 408, de positie van directeur en adjunct-directeur van het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek ongunstiger is geregeld dan die van directeur en adjunct-directeuren van het Centraal Planbureau.
Naar zijn mening zijn er in genoemde functies bij het C.B.S. bepaalde elementen aanwezig die wellicht een hogere waardering dan de thans geldend motiveren. Ik kan het met deze opvatting wel eens zijn en schrijf U op het ogenblik in mijn hoedanigheid van plv. voorzitter van de Centrale Commissie voor de Statistiek ten einde U de vraag voor te leggen of op dit punt wellicht en in eerste instantie door U een stap zou kunnen worden ondernomen. Te Uwer informatie moge, de volgende gegevens hieraan worden toegevoegd:

De elementen in de functies bij het C.B.S. waarop in het bijzonder de aandacht kan worden gevestigd zijn uiteraard die van de omvang van het personeel en de gecompliceerde organisatie van het werk. Gaarne zal ik te zijner tijd van U vernemen hoe U over deze zaken denkt en of ik U eventueel enig werk uit de hand kan nemen.

Dear Mr. Oud,
Mr. Idenburg brought to my attention that in the new salary decree of 19 September 1950 (further amending the Salary Decree for Civil Servants 1948, Bulletin of Acts and Decrees No J 261) No K 408, the position of director and deputy director of the Central Bureau of Statistics is regulated less favorably than that of the director and deputy directors of the Central Planning Bureau.
In his opinion, there are certain elements in the aforementioned positions at the C.B.S. that might justify a higher valuation than the one currently in effect. I can agree with this view and am writing to you now in my capacity as acting chairman of the Central Commission for Statistics to put the question to you whether a step could perhaps be taken by you on this point, in the first instance. For your information, the following data may be added:
