Tot mijn spijt heb ik nog steeds geen mogelijkheid gevonden om U een betrekking aan te bieden. Ofschoon ik zeker bij voorkomende gelegenheden aan U zal denken, wil ik toch nog even herhalen wat ik bij onze bespreking zei: er is op het ogenblik een veel te groot aanbod van kantoorpersoneel, waardoor de kansen in deze beroepen, vooral zonder diploma's, zeer moeilijk liggen. Daar staat tegenover dat er nog altijd een tekort is aan geschoolde metaalbewerkers waaraan ons land voor langere tijd grote behoefte heeft. In verband hiermede zou ik U nogmaals willen aanraden ernstig na te denken over de mogelijkheid om U, zolang U geen betrekking heeft kunnen vinden, in die richting te laten opleiden. Wellicht kan U door eens te gaan spreken met het Gemeentelijke Bureau voor Beroepskeuze, Grote Markt 8, nadere inlichtingen krijgen over de mogelijkheden die hier liggen.
Ik ben zelf ook ten alle tijde bereid om daarover te spreken, maar ik ken de praktijk niet. Het is een ernstige raad die de laatste tijd door meer en meer deskundigen wordt gegeven aan jongerenmensen, die nog de kans hebben om hun beroep te veranderen.

To my regret, I have still not found an opportunity to offer you a position. Although I will certainly think of you on occurring occasions, I would still like to repeat what I said during our discussion: at the moment there is a far too large supply of office staff, which makes the chances in these professions, especially without diplomas, very difficult. On the other hand, there is still a shortage of skilled metalworkers for which our country has a great need for a longer period of time. In connection with this, I would like to advise you once again to think seriously about the possibility of having yourself trained in that direction as long as you have not been able to find a position. Perhaps by going to speak with the Municipal Bureau for Vocational Guidance, Grote Markt 8, you can obtain further information about the possibilities that lie here.
I myself am also prepared to speak about this at any time, but I do not know the practice. It is serious advice that has recently been given by more and more experts to young people who still have the chance to change their profession.
