Thank you very much for yours of January 9. It is a great satisfaction for me that you would also consider me a candidate "as I am" and I want to thank you very much for it. You are right that there was an ambiguity in my answer. The choice was very difficult indeed for me and this explains the delay in this answer. I have, however, to finish some tasks here which will take me a few years. This is why I cannot now accept the candidacy. I hope that you do not misinterpret my appreciation for it.
