Amice,
In verband met mijn vacantie is pas dezer dagen tot mij doorgedrongen dat je afscheid hebt genomen van ons clubje wegens je verkiezing tot Kamerlid. Aanvankelijk dacht ik dat er sprake was van een functie bij het Schuman-plan. Gaarne wens ik je alsnog van harte geluk met je verkiezing, in de hoop dat je in de Kamer weldra bij de behandeling van economische aangelegenheden een belangrijke rol zult spelen, waarbij deskundigheid bij voorbaat verzekerd is. Mochten wij op deze wijze nog eens in contact komen, dan zal ik dat steeds bijzonder op prijs stellen.

Initially, I thought there was talk of a position with the Schuman Plan. I would like to sincerely congratulate you on your election, in the hope that you will soon play an important role in the Chamber in the handling of economic matters, where expertise is assured in advance.
