Beste Leo,
Ik ben niet zeker of de hierbij weer teruggaande slot-paragraaf geheel juist is. In elk geval wordt op regel 6 het woord deflatoir op een wijze gebruikt, die me twijfelachtig lijkt. Bovendien vind ik het moeilijk dit wel erg korte betoog te volgen, indien ik niet begrijp hoe men het vraagstuk heeft aangepakt. Om de auteur te laten zien hoe het mij lijkt dat wij het, althans voor onszelf, moeten verantwoorden, heb ik de bijgaande paar krabbels gemaakt, die misschien ook nog niet goed zijn, maar die dan toch aanduiden hoe ik het mij ongeveer gedacht had. Juist op deze punten moeten wij zeer zorgvuldig zijn. Ik zou je willen vragen dit zelf ook nogeens op te zetten (het is altijd een leerzame oefening) en er dan natuurlijk voor het rapport weer een verbale samenvatting van te maken. Ik zeg dus niet dat de tekst onjuist is, maar dat ik er niet gemakkelijk de gedachtengang uit kan controleren.

Dear Leo,
I am not sure if the enclosed returning final paragraph is entirely correct. In any case, on line 6, the word deflationary is used in a way that seems doubtful to me. Moreover, I find it difficult to follow this very short argument if I do not understand how the issue has been approached. To show the author how it seems to me that we, at least for ourselves, must justify it, I have made the enclosed few scribbles, which may not be good yet either, but which nevertheless indicate how I had roughly thought of it. It is precisely on these points that we must be very careful. I would like to ask you to set this up yourself once more (it is always an instructive exercise) and then, of course, make a verbal summary of it again for the report. I am not saying that the text is incorrect, but that I cannot easily check the line of thought.
