Zeer geachte Heer Ter Steege,
Bijgaande doe ik U gemakshalve het gehele mapje met stukken toekomen, dat ik ten aanzien van ons pleegdochtertje in mijn bezit heb. Deze documenten ontvang ik uiteraard t.z.t. gaarne terug. Inmiddels is het misschien aanbevelenswaardig, dat U overleg pleegt met het hoofdbestuur van het Rode Kruis, waar Mevrouw D.A.C. Dorlandt-Uit den Berg van de zaak afweet. Mijn vrouw vertelde mij bovendien, dat enige geboorte-acte of afschrift daarvan niet beschikbaar is. Men deelde ons mede, dat het kindje in Stettin zou zijn geboren en ingeschreven, maar dat de burgerlijke stand van Stettin volkomen verwoest is. U zult ook bemerken, dat de schrijfwijze van de naam in de verschillende stukken niet geheel dezelfde is.
Mijn vrouw zal inderdaad gaarne als toeziende voogd optreden. Haar volledige naam is: Mr Tine Johanne Tinbergen-de Wit, geboren 27 October 1902 te Weltevreden.
Indien U nog nadere inlichtingen wenst, zijn wij uiteraard gaarne tot Uw beschikking.

Dear Mr. Ter Steege,
For your convenience, I am enclosing the entire folder of documents that I have in my possession regarding our foster daughter. I would, of course, like to have these documents returned in due course. In the meantime, it might be advisable for you to consult with the central board of the Red Cross, where Mrs. D.A.C. Dorlandt-Uit den Berg is aware of the case. My wife also told me that no birth certificate or copy thereof is available. We were informed that the child was supposedly born and registered in Stettin, but that the civil registry of Stettin has been completely destroyed. You will also notice that the spelling of the name is not entirely the same in the various documents.
My wife will indeed be happy to act as a supervising guardian. Her full name is: Mr. Tine Johanne Tinbergen-de Wit, born 27 October 1902 in Weltevreden.
