My dear Frisch,
Thank you for yours of May 5 and 6. I am very glad Mr Amundsen is interested in the point of the approximations in my model and I am looking forward to his comments. In the coming week I hope to be able to write down some considerations about a comparison of your models and mine. I am also looking forward to Bjerve's comments on the index number problem. My point was finding out in short what documents are the elements of your system.
I had a look into your summary of the "World Conference" and I have in fact no remarks, except that at Monday morning in the bus back to Oslo we considered using accent grave and accent aigu for indication demand and supply as now considered in the P.S. Have I to understand your summary this way that after all you preferred to reserve these signs for the objects indicated under 22 ? If so, I don't oppose. I only do not see why you are so much opposed against using S and D instead of sup and dem. Is it because S and D as main symbols have an other meaning already ? At some later time I hope to go into the question what Greek letters should be used for coefficients and what for other purposes. I think there is no hurry (cf. section 3).
I hope you don't mind that I multiplied already your provisional suggestions for internal information in the Plan Bureau and the Netherlands Economic Institute in order to have the comments of the staff. Don't wait for these; we could, if necessary, make use of them after having the comments of Koopmans, Marshak and Stone.
