Zeer geachte Heer Oud,
Bijgaand doe ik U een ontwerp-brief voor de Minister toekomen die, indien hij Uw instemming heeft, wellicht door U zou kunnen worden verzonden. Mocht U wijzigingen wensen dan wilt U wellicht zo vriendelijk zijn mij de brief met de wijzigingen terug te zenden.
Ik ben natuurlijk gaarne bereid U te vergezellen wanneer het tot een bezoek aan de Minister komt.

Bezoldigingsbesluit
Excellentie,
De verschijning van de jongste aanvulling van het Bezoldigingsbesluit No K 408 (Besluit van 19 September 1950 tot nadere wijziging van het Bezoldigingsbesluit Burgerlijke Rijksambtenaren 1948, Staatsblad No J 261) geeft mij aanleiding me tot U te wenden met de volgende kwestie.
Bij een vergelijking van de salarissen van de directeur en de adjunct-directeur van het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek met de salarissen van de overeenkomende functies bij het Centraal Planbureau valt het op dat de laatste vrij aanzienlijk hoger liggen, zoals uit onderstaand staatje moge blijken.

Ongetwijfeld worden aan de leiding van het Centraal Planbureau zeer hoge eisen, m.n. op wetenschappelijk en toegepast wetenschappelijk gebied, gesteld. Het komt mij echter voor dat daartegenover de leiding van het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek verantwoordelijkheden draagt op het gebied van organisatie en personeelsbeleid, die alleen reeds door de

omvang van het personeel en daarnaast door de mechanisatie van het statistische werk eveneens bijzonder mogen worden genoemd. Een zo groot verschil in salarissen als thans aanwezig is komt mij dan ook niet juist voor. Ik zou het op prijs stellen indien Uwe Excellentie vanuit dit gezichtspunt de salarisschalen van de directie van het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek opnieuw zoudt willen doen bezien en ben gaarne bereid mijn opvattingen mondeling toe te lichten.

Remuneration Decree
Excellency,
The appearance of the latest supplement to the Remuneration Decree No K 408 (Decree of September 19, 1950, for the further amendment of the Remuneration Decree for Civil Servants 1948, Bulletin of Acts and Decrees No J 261) gives me cause to turn to you with the following matter.
In a comparison of the salaries of the director and the deputy director of the Central Bureau of Statistics with the salaries of the corresponding positions at the Central Planning Bureau, it is striking that the latter are quite considerably higher, as may appear from the table below.

Undoubtedly, very high demands are placed on the leadership of the Central Planning Bureau, particularly in the scientific and applied scientific fields. size of the staff and additionally because of the mechanization of statistical work, may also be called exceptional. Such a large difference in salaries as is currently present does not seem right to me. I would appreciate it if Your Excellency would have the salary scales of the management of the Central Bureau of Statistics reconsidered from this point of view and I am gladly prepared to explain my views orally.
