Thank you very much indeed for your kind letter of February 24. I asked Mr Mitra to send you separately a short statement of his academic career and the other information you mentioned to me. I am very glad you are interested in him. I appreciate him very much, and we are just now in the days that his dissertation is being printed. It will be sent to you by Mr Mitra, I am sure.
Thank you for the clear and useful summary of the Indian situation which you were kind enough to add in your letter. It was most helpful to me for bringing my knowledge up to date on some points which are of primordial interest. There is a chance that I shall come to your country for about half a year next autumn and I am looking forward to renew our contacts.
