Dear Mr. Lenschow,
Please accept my sincere thanks for your letters of June 20, which were kindly handed to me personally by Miss Wittmer Eigenbrodt, and of July 10. In particular, the results of the spirits consumption seem important to me. I just do not remember whether I might already possess the graphics which I would very much like to see for assessment. Even without them, however, it is clear to me that the result is quite interesting.
I did not quite understand whether you already have a publication opportunity for your work on the canal and for this latest work on spirits. If not, I would be very happy to promote the publication in a Dutch or international journal.
The fact that I have not let you hear from me for so long is explained by the fact that we are investigating the possibility of offering you a position here; but that is not quite so simple. Even if that should not succeed, I hope that the publication of your works can contribute to opening up other possibilities for you. When I was last in Luxembourg, the head of the labor department, Mr. Glisenti, was unfortunately ill, which meant I could not see him. I am going back there now on July 30. There, too, I always intend to take your interests into account.

Sehr geehrter Herr Lenschow,
Haben Sie aufrichtigen Dank für Ihre Briefe vom 20. Juni, die mir freundlicherweise von Fräulein Wittmer Eigenbrodt persönlich überreicht worden ist, und vom 10. Juli. Insbesondere die Resultate des Branntweinverbrauchs scheinen mir wichtig zu sein. Nur erinnere ich mich nicht ob ich doch vielleicht schon die Graphike besitze die ich zur Beurteilung sehr gerne sehen möchte. Auch ohne sie ist es mir jedoch klar dass das Resultat durchaus interessant ist.
Ich habe nicht recht verstanden ob Sie für Ihre Arbeit über den Kanal und für diese letzte Branntweinarbeit schon eine Veröffentlichungsmöglichkeit haben. Wenn nicht, so werde ich sehr gerne die Veröffentlichung in einer holländischen oder internationalen Zeitschrift fördern.
Dass ich so lange noch nichts von mir hören liess, erklärt sich dadurch dass wir die Möglichkeit untersuchen Ihnen hier eine Stelle anzubieten; dass ist aber nicht so ganz einfach. Auch wenn das aber nicht gelingen würde, hoffe ich dass die Publikation Ihrer Arbeiten dazu beitragen kann Ihnen andere Möglichkeiten zu eröffnen. Als ich das letzte Mal in Luxemburg war, war leider der Leiter der Arbeitsabteilung, Herr Glisenti, erkrankt, wodurch ich ihn nicht sehen konnte. Ich fahre jetzt am 30. Juli wieder hin. Auch dort pflege ich immer mit Ihren Interessen zu rechnen.
