Beste Koos,
Onze advertentie heeft verschillende reacties opgeleverd waarvan, naar onze mening, verreweg het meest aanbevelenswaardig is de mogelijkheid om het huis te huren van Mr A.J. de Bruyn (Laan van Poot 434, den Haag). Dit huis ligt in onze buurt, onmiddellijk tegenover de duinen en dus slechts 10 minuten van zee, met een goede busverbinding naar de stad en een tuin. Het is nogal eenvoudig gemeubileerd, maar heeft wel de in Nederland gebruikelijke gemakken. Als het voor jullie hetzelfde zou zijn zou de heer de Bruyn liever nog een week of zelfs meer dan een week na Juli willen blijven en jullie evenveel langer het huis in Augustus afstaan, doch een conditio sine qua non is dit in genen dele. Overigens stel ik je voor dat je de zaken rechtstreeks met hem afspreekt. Wij zorgen voor een behoorlijke hulp en zullen je daar nog nader over berichten.

"Wij wonen in het nieuwste deel van de Vogelwijk aan de duinvoet, een minuut of 7 van het strand, dat geheel vrij is. Ons huis ligt geheel buiten in een prachtige omgeving en heeft goede verbindingen zowel met de stad als met Scheveningen en de nieuwe badplaats Kijkduin. Vóór een vrij uitzicht op sportveld en duinen, achter een beschutte en zonnige tuin. Als geheel een ideale combinatie der voordelen van het wonen in den Haag en aan de kust.
"Het is een licht en (al moet ik er natuurlijk bijvoegen: naar Nederlandse begrippen) comfortabel huis, met warm en koud water, bad, enz. Leveranciers komen aan de deur, bovendien verschillende winkels vlakbij. Er zijn twee 2-persoons en twee 1-persoonsslaapkamers.
"Mocht U dit iets lijken, dan zal ik graag over nader te maken afspraken, als bv. betreffende gebruik van servies en linnengoed enz. met U overleggen; wij zullen het daarover zeker eens kunnen worden."

Dear Koos,
Our advertisement has yielded several responses of which, in our opinion, by far the most recommendable is the possibility of renting the house of Mr A.J. de Bruyn (Laan van Poot 434, The Hague). This house is in our neighborhood, immediately opposite the dunes and thus only 10 minutes from the sea, with a good bus connection to the city and a garden. It is rather simply furnished, but does have the usual conveniences in the Netherlands. If it would be the same for you, Mr de Bruyn would prefer to stay another week or even more than a week after July and let you have the house for that much longer in August, but this is by no means a conditio sine qua non. Furthermore, I suggest that you arrange matters directly with him. We will arrange for proper help and will inform you further about that.

"We live in the newest part of the Vogelwijk at the foot of the dunes, about 7 minutes from the beach, which is completely open. Our house is located entirely on the outskirts in a beautiful environment and has good connections both to the city and to Scheveningen and the new seaside resort Kijkduin. In front, an unobstructed view of the sports field and dunes, in the back, a sheltered and sunny garden. As a whole, an ideal combination of the advantages of living in The Hague and on the coast.
"It is a bright and (though I must of course add: by Dutch standards) comfortable house, with hot and cold water, bath, etc. Suppliers come to the door, and furthermore, several shops are nearby. There are two double and two single bedrooms.
"Should this appeal to you, I would be happy to consult with you about further arrangements to be made, such as regarding the use of crockery and linens, etc.; we will certainly be able to reach an agreement on that."
