Zeer geachte Heer Pelt,
Naar aanleiding van Uw brief van 5 Februari heb ik onderzocht welke mogelijkheden er thans voor Mevrouw Snelten zouden zijn in den Haag. Het onderzoek is voorlopig tot mijn spijt negatief uitgevallen, maar dat wil niet zeggen dat het zo blijft. Op het Planbureau is er op het ogenblik geen vacature, maar maakt zij bij een voorkomende vacature natuurlijk een goede kans. Het bleek mij, dat bij de Sociaal-Economische Raad op het ogenblik ook geen vacature bestaat, doch ook daar wil men gaarne aan haar denken. Ik heb beloofd dat zij haar stukken daar ook zou inzenden (Bezuidenhout 60, den Haag). Tenslotte hebben wij eveneens de toezegging van Mejuffrouw L. Beukers, Centrale Personeelsdienst van het Ministerie van Economische Zaken, 1e v. d. Boschstraat 15, den Haag, in gelijke geest. Het komt mij voor, dat Mevrouw Snelten, met het pensioen dat zij thans heeft, het zou kunnen wagen naar den Haag te komen om daar bij een eventuele vacature gemakkelijk beschikbaar te zijn; doch ook wanneer zij in Genève blijft zouden wij haar zeker op de hoogte kunnen stellen. Indertijd heb ik al voor haar bij de Hoge Autoriteit in Luxemburg geïnformeerd en daar zijn haar gegevens dus reeds bekend.

Het deed mij bijzonder genoegen van U te horen en ook uit de laatste alinea van Uw brief te begrijpen, dat het U goed gaat. Het is inderdaad zo, dat Tineke verloofd is en er voor a. s. herfst reeds trouwplannen in de maak zijn. Haar verloofde hoopt tegen die tijd een beroep als remonstrants predikant te krijgen.

Dear Mr. Pelt,
Following your letter of February 5, I have investigated what possibilities there currently are for Mrs. Snelten in The Hague. To my regret, the investigation has turned out negative for the time being, but that does not mean it will stay that way. At the Planning Bureau, there is currently no vacancy, but she would naturally have a good chance if a vacancy were to occur. It appeared to me that at the Social-Economic Council there is also no vacancy at the moment, but there too they would like to keep her in mind. I have promised that she would also send her documents there (Bezuidenhout 60, The Hague). Finally, we also have the promise of Miss L. Beukers, Central Personnel Department of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, 1e v. d. Boschstraat 15, The Hague, in a similar spirit. It seems to me that Mrs. Snelten, with the pension she currently has, could venture to come to The Hague to be easily available there for a possible vacancy; but even if she remains in Geneva, we could certainly keep her informed. At the time, I already inquired for her at the High Authority in Luxembourg, so her details are already known there.

It gave me great pleasure to hear from you and also to understand from the last paragraph of your letter that you are doing well. It is indeed the case that Tineke is engaged and wedding plans are already in the works for next autumn. Her fiancé hopes to receive a call as a Remonstrant minister by that time.
