Betreft: Inlichtingen omtrent de heer A.J.G. Bruijnis.
In antwoord op Uw brief van 2 Augustus j.l. deel ik U mede, dat de heer BRUIJNIS deel uitmaakt van een studiegroep van economen van de vier grote bedrijven in ons land, die geregeld onder mijn leiding samenkomt met het Nederlands Economisch Instituut. Ik heb de heer Bruijnis daarbij leren kennen als een bekwaam en actief man, die goed op de hoogte is van de vraagstukken waar het om gaat. Om die reden meen ik hem te kunnen aanbevelen voor de door U bedoelde functie.

ONDERWERP: inlichtingen omtrent de heer A.J.G. Bruijnis.
Aan de Hooggeleerde Heer Prof. Dr. J. Tinbergen, Sijzenlaan 41, DEN HAAG.
Ik heb de heer U mede te delen, dat de heer A.J.G. Bruijnis, econ. drs. Dovenetelweg 37 alhier, heeft gesolliciteerd naar een functie bij de Nederlandse Missie voor de uitvoering van het tienjarenplan voor de ontwikkeling van Suriname. Dit plan beoogt de verbreding en versteviging van de huidige smalle economische basis van dat land. Binnenkort zal een ontwerp van wet, houdende machtiging tot deelneming voor een aanzienlijk bedrag in de financiering van het plan bij de 2e Kamer der Staten Generaal, worden ingediend. Met het oog op deze deelneming bestaat het voornemen een Nederlandse Missie in te stellen, met standplaats Paramaribo, welke tot taak zal hebben te adviseren omtrent de jaarlijks bij de Nederlandse Regering door Suriname in te dienen werkplannen en toezicht uit te oefenen op de nakoming van de voor Nederlandse financiële deelneming gestelde voorwaarden.
De Nederlandse missie zal waarschijnlijk bestaan uit vijf financieel-economische en technische deskundigen. Voor het verkrijgen van inlichtingen heeft de heer Bruijnis onder meer naar U verwezen.
In verband hiermede zou ik het op prijs stellen wanneer U mij enige gegevens zou willen verstrekken omtrent zijn bekwaamheden, ervaring en opvatting ten aanzien van zijn werk, alsmede omtrent zijn persoon, levenswandel en gezinsleven.
Voor Uw medewerking in deze betuig ik U bij voorbaat mijn dank.

In response to your letter of August 2 last, I inform you that Mr. BRUIJNIS is part of a study group of economists from the four large companies in our country, which regularly meets under my leadership with the Netherlands Economic Institute. I have come to know Mr. Bruijnis as a capable and active man, who is well-informed about the issues at hand. For that reason, I believe I can recommend him for the position you intended.

SUBJECT: information regarding Mr. A.J.G. Bruijnis.
To the Highly Learned Gentleman Prof. Dr. J. Tinbergen, Sijzenlaan 41, THE HAGUE.
I have the honor to inform you that Mr. A.J.G. Bruijnis, econ. drs. Dovenetelweg 37 here, has applied for a position with the Dutch Mission for the implementation of the ten-year plan for the development of Suriname. This plan aims at broadening and strengthening the current narrow economic base of that country. Soon a draft law, containing authorization for participation for a significant amount in the financing of the plan, will be submitted to the 2nd Chamber of the States General. In view of this participation, there is an intention to establish a Dutch Mission, based in Paramaribo, which will have the task of advising on the work plans to be submitted annually to the Dutch Government by Suriname and to exercise supervision over compliance with the conditions set for Dutch financial participation.
The Dutch mission will probably consist of five financial-economic and technical experts. To obtain information, Mr. Bruijnis has, among others, referred to you.
In this connection, I would appreciate it if you would provide me with some information regarding his abilities, experience, and views regarding his work, as well as regarding his person, lifestyle, and family life.
For your cooperation in this matter, I express my thanks in advance.
