Dear Colleague,
As I have just telegraphed you, I will be happy to give my lecture before your institute either on the eighth or the ninth of January.
As a subject, I propose that you choose from the following subjects:
Economic theory;
Speculation;
Some remarks on hoarding;
Unstable and indifferent equilibria in the balance of payments;
Theory of the interest rate: reconciliation of the theories of Keynes and the so-called "classical" ones;
Statistical research:
Determination of the elasticity of substitution: raw material markets and total trade of a country;
Progressive taxes and stabilization of consumption.
Excuse me for a certain indiscretion regarding the length of this list, but perhaps it is convenient for you if you can adapt the subject to the special interests of the institute.
I am particularly looking forward to seeing you again. Believe me, yours very devotedly,

Comme je viens de vous télégraphier je serai heureux de faire ma conférence devant votre institut soit au huit soit au neuf janvier.
Comme sujet je vous propose de choisir entre les sujets suivants:
Théorie économique;
Spéculation;
Quelques remarques sur la thésaurisation;
Equilibres instables et indifférents dans la balance des paiements;
Théorie du taux de l'intérêt: réconciliation des théories de Keynes et dites "classiques";
Recherches statistiques:
Détermination de l'élasticité de substitution: marchés de matières premières et commerce total d'un pays;
Impôts progressifs et stabilisation de la consommation.
Excusez-moi d'une certaine indiscrétion en ce qui concerne la longueur de cette liste, mais peut-être c'est commode pour vous si vous pouvez adapter le sujet aux intérêts spéciaux de l'institut.
