Dear Mr. Divisia,
It is only today that I have found the time to study a little more closely your contribution to the 1950 econometric congress on the demand for durable goods. I wish to confirm to you that indeed several authors neglect your argument to take as one of the terms of the equation a term with dp/dt and my friend P. de Wolff, in his study on the demand for automobiles, did not introduce this term. It could be said, however, that your idea has been well applied in certain discussions on the capital market where the demand to "possess" will depend on p and consequently the demand to buy (during a certain unit of time) will depend on dp/dt.

C'est seulement aujourd'hui que j'ai trouvé le temps d'étudier un peu plus de près votre contribution au congrès économétriques de 1950 sur la demande des biens durables. Je tiens à vous confirmer que en effet plusieurs auteurs négligent votre argument pour prendre comme un des termes d'équation un terme avec dp/dt et mon ami P. de Wolff, dans son étude sur la demande d'automobiles, n'a pas introduit ce terme. On pourra dire cependant que votre idée a bien été appliquée dans certaines discussions sur le marché des capitaux où la demande de "posséder" dépendra de p et en conséquence la demande d'acheter (pendant une certaine unité de temps) dépendra de dp/dt.
