Amice,
Hartelijk dank voor je brief van 23 Juni. Inmiddels heb ik van Prof. Schumann bericht gekregen dat hij van 4-9 Juli in Brussel zal zijn en wel in Hotel Astoria, 103 Rue Royale. Ik heb hem in overweging gegeven je een telegram te sturen vragende of je naar Brussel wilt komen tussen 4 en 9 Juli. Er is een kans dat deze brief hem reeds eerder bereikt, want hij passeert Zaterdag a.s. langs Schiphol.
Het doet me genoegen dat je er althans iets voor voelt te spreken met de heer Schumann, dat voor het overige de nodige opheldering voor jullie beiden moet brengen.

Thank you very much for your letter of June 23. In the meantime, I have received word from Prof. Schumann that he will be in Brussels from July 4-9, specifically at Hotel Astoria, 103 Rue Royale. I have suggested to him that he send you a telegram asking if you would like to come to Brussels between July 4 and 9. There is a chance that this letter will reach him even sooner, as he will be passing by Schiphol this coming Saturday.
I am pleased that you are at least somewhat interested in speaking with Mr. Schumann, which should otherwise provide the necessary clarification for both of you.
