Tot mijn spijt ben ik niet in staat de conferentie van 21 tot 25 Juli bij te wonen. Ik zou niettemin toezending van de stellingen zeer op prijs stellen en zal mij daaromtrent wenden tot de Wiardi Beckman Stichting. Bijgaand zend ik je een concept toe dat ik zelf kort geleden samenstelde en dat ik met deze en gene reeds kort besprak. T.z.t. zou ik zeer dankbaar zijn voor enkele korte opmerkingen jouwerzijds als daartoe aanleiding bestaat.

To my regret, I am unable to attend the conference from 21 to 25 July. I would nevertheless greatly appreciate receiving the propositions and will contact the Wiardi Beckman Foundation regarding this. Enclosed I am sending you a draft that I composed myself a short while ago and which I have already briefly discussed with various people. In due course, I would be very grateful for a few brief remarks from your side if there is reason to do so.
