Professor Ragnar Frisch,
My dear Frisch,
Thank you for your letter of July 22. I am very sorry that I am unable to come since quite recently a demand has been made for a wage increase and I am supposed to deliver advice at very short notice on this matter. I think the combination of my official duties with some scientific activities is becoming a little tiresome and I am planning to finish this combination within the next year or so. My backlog in many subjects is accumulating and I do want to understand a little bit more of the interesting new things that are produced by my more active colleagues !
I am sure that the decisions of the council members present at Uppsala will be very wise.
