Beste Dirk, Ik heb twee brieven van je ontvangen, en één verzonden, en zal spoedig weer schrijven. Intussen kreeg ik als antwoord op de brief waarvan dit een doorslag is dat ze materiaal hebben verzonden, met een rekening (ik had gehoopt dat ze de zaak gratis zouden sturen, maar dat is niet gelukt). Ik heb ook aan Nat. Bur. en Brook. Inst. gevraagd jullie lijsten van hun uitgaven te zenden. Beste groeten aan alle meiden Tjalling

Dear Mr. Coil:
I am writing on behalf of Professor J. Tinbergen, Director of the economic research section of the Central Statistical Office, the Hague, Netherlands. Tinbergen and his staff are attempting to become acquainted as quickly as possible with economic literature that appeared in this country during the war. I shall be very grateful if you would help them by sending 1) a complete file of the "Public Policy Digest," 2) a complete list of National Planning Association publications, pamphlets, etc., and 3) a few of the most representative pamphlets.
Although I have not been officially authorized by the Central Statistical Office to order material for them, I feel that they should have this material without the two-month delay involved in writing back and forth. Since the officials involved are my personal friends, I am sure that they will approve of my action and arrange for any payment, due for the above material, as soon as the control of international paymentss permits.
