Zeer geachte Heer Jacobs,
Het is niet zo erg eenvoudig iemand kant en klaar een literatuurlijst over de door U bedoelde onderwerpen te verstrekken. Vele dezer vakken zijn nog zodanig in ontwikkeling, dat afgeronde leerboeken nog maar nauwelijks bestaan, terwijl de handboeken veelal te moeilijk zijn. Met mijn eigen studenten spreek ik meestal af, dat zij als hoofdstof mijn college-dictaat nemen en enkele verplichte boeken. Deze laatste dekken echter de stof in genen dele en door keuze van speciale onderwerpen wordt de lijst dan ook gecompleteerd. De keuze van de speciale onderwerpen laat ik gewoonlijk afhangen van de belangstelling van de candidaat. Hij krijgt dus de keuze uit een hele lijst. Deze laatste treft U aan in het zg. "groene boekje" van de Vereniging voor Studentenbelangen bij de Nederlandse Economische Hogeschool. Ik zou U dus willen aanraden dit eerst aan te schaffen.
Het hiervoor vermelde geldt voor de vakken a, b, d uit Uw brief. Het vak c kan men wellicht het beste bestuderen aan de hand van enkele publicaties van het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek ¹) en van het Centraal Planbureau ²).
Wat tenslotte de planologie betreft mag ik misschien verwijzen naar het boekje van dezelfde naam van de heren Bakker Schut in de serie van Noorduyn. Daarnaast is wellicht voor U van betekenis het boekje van Klaassen, Koyck en Van Dongen Torman over Amersfoort. Daar dit vak door mij niet officieel wordt gedoceerd, kan ik U niet zeggen of deze lijst voldoende omvat. Dit zoudt U wellicht de heer Dr Ir Angenot van de Nederlands Economische Hogeschool kunnen vragen.

It is not very simple to provide someone with a ready-made bibliography on the subjects you intended. Many of these subjects are still in such a state of development that complete textbooks hardly exist yet, while the manuals are often too difficult. With my own students, I usually agree that they take my lecture notes as the main material along with some mandatory books. However, the latter do not cover the material at all, and the list is completed by choosing special topics. I usually let the choice of special topics depend on the interest of the candidate. He therefore gets to choose from an entire list. You will find the latter in the so-called "green booklet" of the Association for Student Interests at the Netherlands School of Economics. I would therefore like to advise you to purchase this first.
The aforementioned applies to subjects a, b, and d from your letter. Subject c can perhaps best be studied on the basis of some publications from the Central Bureau of Statistics ¹) and from the Central Planning Bureau ²).
Finally, regarding planology, I might refer to the booklet of the same name by Messrs. Bakker Schut in the Noorduyn series. In addition, the booklet by Klaassen, Koyck, and Van Dongen Torman about Amersfoort may be of significance to you. Since this subject is not officially taught by me, I cannot tell you whether this list is sufficient. You might want to ask Mr. Dr. Ir. Angenot of the Netherlands School of Economics about this.
