Aan de Directeur van De Centrale Personeelsdienst van het Ministerie van Binnenlandse Zaken, Bezuidenhout 15, 's-Gravenhage
In antwoord op verzoek van 23 Mei 1953, vdL/BF deel ik U mede dat ik de heer Dr Jean MONOD DE FROIDEVILLE voornamelijk ken door mijn relaties met het tijdschrift, dat hij exploiteert, t.w. "Public Finance". De heer Monod de Froideville heeft zeer veel werk aan dit tijdschrift ten koste gelegd en daarbij steeds van een grote mate van volharding getuigd, terwijl hij in staat is gebleken zich een kring van eersteklasse deskundigen op te bouwen, die bereid was zijn tijdschrift te steunen. Zo iets is natuurlijk niet mogelijk zonder dat men over een aantal eigenschappen beschikt, aan de ene kant wellevendheid, aan de andere kant deskundigheid op het betreffende gebied. Ik heb nooit in een direct werkverband tot Dr Monod de Froideville gestaan, zodat ik niet kan beoordelen hoe hij in een bedrijf of dienst optreedt. Het is mij daarnaast uiteraard ook bekend, dat hij uit een milieu komt waarin men kan aannemen dat stiptheid en betrouwbaarheid vanzelf spreken.

To the Director of The Central Personnel Service of the Ministry of the Interior, Bezuidenhout 15, 's-Gravenhage
In response to the request of 23 May 1953, vdL/BF, I inform you that I know Mr. Dr. Jean MONOD DE FROIDEVILLE primarily through my relations with the journal he operates, namely "Public Finance". Mr. Monod de Froideville has put a great deal of work into this journal and has always shown a high degree of perseverance, while he has proven capable of building a circle of first-class experts who were willing to support his journal. Such a thing is, of course, not possible without possessing a number of qualities: on the one hand, courtesy, and on the other hand, expertise in the relevant field. I have never been in a direct working relationship with Dr. Monod de Froideville, so I cannot judge how he performs in a company or service. It is also naturally known to me that he comes from a background in which one can assume that punctuality and reliability are a matter of course.
