Voor je uitnodiging tot de cocktailparty dank ik je zeer. Het is mijn vrouw en mij tot onze spijt niet mogelijk te komen, zodat wij langs deze weg jou en je gezin het allerbeste wensen voor de toekomst. Je kunt in ieder geval met voldoening terugzien op het vele en belangrijke werk, dat je hier hebt gedaan, waarbij ik als redacteur van de E.-S.B. nog even apart onze dankbaarheid wil uiten, voor de wijze waarop je ook de voorlichting van het publiek daarbij hebt willen behartigen. Ik hoop dat wij van tijd tot tijd nog eens contact met elkaar zullen hebben.
