Nader overleg met de Secretaris van de Commissie Plesman heeft mij doen zien, dat het hem vrijwel onmogelijk is om vóór de vergadering van 9 April, die wij voorlopig hadden vastgesteld, een behoorlijk doorgewerkt stuk te leveren. In verband daarmede moet ik thans toch voorstellen de vergadering van 9 April niet te laten doorgaan. Aangezien het eerst geruime tijd daarna mogelijk zou zijn Uw deelname aan een vergadering te verkrijgen, zullen wij nu eerst maar eens een stuk produceren en dan later in het jaar contact met U zoeken. Ik hoop dat Uwerzijds hiertegen geen bezwaar bestaat en meen tijdens ons gesprek begrepen te hebben dat zulks ook niet het geval is.

Further consultation with the Secretary of the Plesman Commission has shown me that it is virtually impossible for him to deliver a properly developed document before the meeting of April 9, which we had provisionally scheduled. In connection with this, I must now propose not to let the meeting of April 9 proceed. Since it would only be possible to obtain your participation in a meeting a considerable time thereafter, we will first produce a document and then seek contact with you later in the year. I hope that there is no objection on your part to this and believe I understood during our conversation that such is not the case.
