Dear Tjalling,
Thank you very much for sending me the report by Klein which I already superficially read through. Needless to tell you that I am very much interested in it. I shall try to formulate any criticisms that may come up.
Would it be possible to produce charts indicating the "explanations" of the various series; that would greatly facilitate my task.
I am arranging to exchange publications both with the Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek and with the Centraal Planbureau.
Enclosed I am sending you two more offprints; unfortunately I have none left of my article in Weltwirtschaftliches Archiv "Zur Theorie der langfristigen Entwicklung", W.A. 55(May 1942) page 511. In that paper I dealt with some simple theories of trend-movements based on a Douglas' production function and a simple population law. I tried to confront my results with some other variations on trend between 1870 and 1914.
Thank you also very much for your data on town-building in connection with atomic bombs.
Tine, the children and myself were extremely glad with the precious parcels you sent us. All in it satisfies very urgent needs.
