De Hooggeleerde Heer Professor Dr B. Pruyt, Maliesingel 53, U t r e c h t
Amice,

The Highly Learned Professor Dr B. Pruyt, Maliesingel 53, U t r e c h t
Amice,
To my regret, I heard in the Senate that you are not yet at the point where you can return. Since I myself have also dealt with similar difficulties, I feel the need to show you a moment of my sympathy and to wish you that you can distance yourself sufficiently from your duties to promote your recovery.
The symptoms under which what the vernacular calls "overwork" occurs are very different. The neurologist used the word depression with me and, after a few months of rest, set me back to work at a gentle pace. But for a long time afterwards, I retained my special symptoms of sleeplessness and heart palpitations. Others suffer from headaches or stomach issues.
What has repeatedly become clear to me is that general practitioners are not up to date with modern methods regarding this "overwork".
Actually, I am writing this to you because it has become clear to me with a few fellow sufferers that it is sometimes pleasant for the victim to hear from others. I do not know in the meantime whether the difficulties are different for you and just want to say that if you ever feel the need for a chat, I would be happy to drop by.
With kind regards,
