Amice,
In antwoord op Uw brief van 10 dezer deel ik U mede, dat ik tot mijn spijt evenmin gelegenheid zal hebben de Landdag voor Economen bij te wonen.
Van deze gelegenheid maak ik gebruik nog even terug te komen op het artikel van Van Cleeff in de E.-S.B. Zoals de heer de Wit U wel zal hebben bericht is het een misverstand geweest dat het artikel is afgedrukt. Uit onze afspraken op de bestuursvergadering meende ik begrepen te hebben, dat gij van plan waart een antwoord te schrijven. Thans meen ik begrepen te hebben dat gij dit wellicht mosterd na de maaltijd vindt, doch wilde dit nog even vaststellen.

In response to your letter of the 10th of this month, I inform you that, to my regret, I will also not have the opportunity to attend the Landdag for Economists.
I take this opportunity to briefly return to the article by Van Cleeff in the E.-S.B. As Mr. de Wit will likely have informed you, it was a misunderstanding that the article was printed. From our agreements at the board meeting, I thought I understood that you intended to write a response. I now believe I understand that you might find this to be 'mustard after the meal', but I wanted to confirm this.
